...and then I found $5.

I’m sick of these things happening.

I’m sick of not feeling safe in kindergarten/college/airplanes/movies/malls, now races.

I’m sick of “my thoughts and prayers” going out to strangers.

I’m sick of this sadness that keeps resurfacing.

I’m sick of crying over lost, innocent people.

Just sick of it.

Last night I treated my friend and her husband to dinner at a local restaurant. (VT people, El Rods has a second location in the “new” South Main shopping center!).

Cumulatively we ordered 2 quesadillas, fajita, rice and 4 beers.

Total = $34

WHAT?!

Some of these college dudes are hot.

Is about the price we’ll be paying for Macho’s surgery instead of that ungodly number I posted before.

This morning I took Macho to a local surgeon for a consultation  really just to get a firm diagnosis to provide to Virginia Tech’s vet school.

My normal vet just called me back and told me that he would refer him to VT and I’d be looking at a cost of $2,500-$3,000 (which is still so much money, but way better than $5,000!).

So, it’s all booked. March 21 I’ll be going to my favorite place on earth (Blacksburg) for 3 days so Macho can get all fixed up.

Called the vet today to talk about surgeon referrals for Macho’s knee. He’s out for the week, but upon his return we will embark on the next leg of this stupid journey. 

The good thing is that they do refer patients to Virginia Tech’s teaching hospital—which could mean significant savings.
