ohheyychrissy:

The online political hating has got to stop.

If you are live-hate-blogging the RNC.

If you are making fun of everything from the way their presenters speak to the way people are dressed to their accents and their CHILDREN and supporters in the audience.

If you are judging people based on wearing boots and cowboy hats and their chants and American flags.

If you are lumping together an entire group of people based on the small sample size at the convention.

If you blog and tweet and post on Facebook your “opinion” which is completely hurtful, judging and mean about a group of people who are individuals, not all the same, most of whom I would wager you do not know who they are or what they think.

If you post quotes and tags with HOW CAN REAL PEOPLE SUPPORT THEM. PEOPLE WHO SUPPORT THIS GROUP ARE RETARDED.

Then you are no better than the party of people you are fighting against.

No better than the people you get SO ANGRY with for doing the same.

No better than those who will think Obama isn’t a citizen and say hurtful jokes.

No better then the group you think you are so much better than.

Before you try to categorize me, I’m a moderate. I lean conservatively on some issues and liberally on others. Romney makes me want to punch a baby but I have not drank the Obama is the best man on Earth kool-aid. I have no idea who I’ll cast my vote for in November, I’m honestly thinking of writing in Mickey Mouse.

And I get it. This goes both ways and I’m sure my liberal college background and where I grew up shelters me from all the hate that is spewed from the other side and I am not saying it’s a one way street AT ALL.

But the hating of each other via the internet (and in life) has GOT TO STOP.

Bias and bigotry and anger and hate can go beyond race and religion and sexual orientation.

It can go to party lines where people are labeled as this or that simply by the name “republican” or “democrat”. If you want people to stop hating on you for your beliefs, you need to stop hating on them.

Remember that quote about it’s your behavior that matters not your beliefs?

We all need to remember that and look at our behavior.

Because honestly, what I see lately, these awul hateful posts are not making your “side” look any better.

/end rant.

Hit the nail on the head.

Thank you.
