Do you know how long I’ve been looking for a vanity stool, tall enough to fit in our bathroom?

No, I bet you don’t.

Since the day we moved in. January 1, 2012. 199 days.

I’ve searched high and low for a stool that was 24” high. Nothing fit the bill. Or if it did, was a couple hundred dollars more than I was willing to pay. (Looking at you, Ballard.)

Today I ran to Target after work to return a dress. I had a couple small household items to pick up while I was there and on my way to the register, my eyes met his.

A 24”, dark wood swivel stool.

It was just what I had been looking for. And it was sitting there all alone on the end cap, on clearance. I picked up my pace a little and headed towards the stool, grabbed the price tag and saw $32.00—originally $90.something.

It couldn’t be, I thought!

But it was.

And now, he’s mine.

And he fits perfectly.
